Year End 2021: Reflecting on the Past and Projecting to the Future

“This podcast has been several years in the making. I had a false start back in 2017 when I got ahead of myself. My heart was in it, but I had no idea of what was really involved in producing a weekly podcast.”

I had the pleasure of attending a virtual podcast cohort last spring where we had current podcasters and future podcasters come together for a weekly Zoom meeting. Towards the end of the cohort, the instructor said, “There is the good news and the bad news about your first few episodes. The bad news is that you probably won’t be very good. You’re still honing your skills. The good news is very few people will be listening, so it won’t matter that much anyway.”

That is wisdom that has really stuck with me as I reflect over the last twenty episodes of the podcast, and I really want to thank all of my guests who have joined me so far for taking time out of their schedules to be on the podcast. I am also grateful for you – my listeners – for tuning in each week. I spend today’s episode reflecting on that and also reminding you all of what the goal and the objective of this podcast has always been, and I also project to the near future, sharing some of what you can expect from the podcast going into 2022.

Be sure to keep tuning in in 2022 because there is so much more good stuff to come! Join me next week for a new conversation with another nonprofit leader! Don’t forget to hit the subscribe button so that you never miss an episode of Next Gen Nonprofit Leadership, and I also encourage you to share the podcast with a friend who would also be likely to get something out of it!
