Westminster Christian School Appoints Scott Jones Head of School

JobfitMatters Executive Search is pleased to announce that Scott Jones has been appointed as Head of School of Westminster Christian School in Palmetto Bay, Florida, effective July 2018. Jones brings an impressive record of leadership and success in Christian education and business.

Jones currently serves as Head of School for Black Forest Academy (BFA), a prestigious Christian boarding school in Kandern, Germany, attended primarily by the children of European-based mission families. During Scott’s seven-year tenure at BFA, he has led the school through mid-term accreditation with three different agencies, revised and improved the school’s organizational structure, acquired property, and completed renovations on two facilities.

“Scott’s extensive experience successfully leading Christian schools, coupled with his background in organizational management and strategic planning, make him exceptionally qualified to lead Westminster Christian School,” said Alex Trujillo, President of the WCS Board of Trustees.

Previously, Jones was the Head of School at Naples Christian Academy in Naples, FL, where he completed a successful academic and financial turnaround that culminated in multiple awards and accreditation recognition for the school during his eight years of service.

“It is an honor and a privilege for me to serve WCS as its next Head of School. My family and I are thrilled about becoming members of the WCS family,” said Scott Jones, newly appointed WCS Head of School. “WCS is a fantastic school with a strong reputation of preparing hearts, inspiring lives, and empowering learners in South Florida.”

Laura Coverstone and Ed Poff of JobfitMatters assisted with the search. Board Chair and Search Committee Chair Alex Trujillo commented, “We chose JobfitMatters after carefully considering many other reputable search firms. It was the best decision our search committee made. Ed and Laura walked us through the entire process. Not only did they meet our expectations, they went above and beyond. In the end, we found who we believe is the absolute best fit for our beloved school.”

Jones graduated from Rice University with a Bachelor of Arts, and earned a Master’s in Educational Leadership from the University of Hawaii. He and his wife Cammy have two sons who will begin attending WCS in the 2018-2019 school year.
