Grand Rapids, Michigan — The Potter’s House has appointed Christine Metzger as its next Superintendent following a national search to identify a Christ-centered leader to guide the school into its next season of growth and impact.
Serving more than 600 students from diverse cultural backgrounds and a wide range of income levels, The Potter’s House is committed to providing accessible Christ-centered education. Metzger, who has served as Interim Superintendent since 2025, brings a steady leadership presence and a demonstrated commitment to The Potter’s House mission of educating students of all ethnic heritages and income levels.
JobfitMatters consultants Laura Coverstone and Ed Poff partnered with the Search Committee and Board to identify Metzger as the interim, clarify leadership priorities, engage stakeholders, and evaluate candidates through sourcing, interviews, reference vetting, and JFM’s SIMA® assessment process. After a thorough review, Metzger emerged as the clear overall fit for the role.
“Christine brings a deep commitment to serving students and a clear passion for the mission of our school,” said Rich Antonini, Chair of the Board. “Her leadership as Interim Superintendent strengthened our community, and we look forward to the stability, faithfulness, and intentional growth she will bring in this next season.”
John Booy, Founder and former Superintendent, expressed confidence in the school’s future and leadership. Booy shared, “It has been a joy to see the school grow into the thriving community it is today, and I am deeply confident Christine Metzger, the leadership team, and our board will carry The Potter’s House mission forward.”
Metzger previously served as Head of School at Mustard Seed School in Hoboken, New Jersey, and as both Interim Superintendent and Superintendent at Lexington Christian Academy in Massachusetts. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from Calvin University and a master’s degree in Education from Covenant College. She also served nine years as a Board Trustee with Calvin University.
Metzger’s appointment marks an important step forward as the school continues to grow in strength, stability, and impact.
