Kingswood Home for Children Names Executive Director David Williams

JobfitMatters is pleased to congratulate Kingswood Home for Children in the appointment of David Williams as Executive Director, effective May 1, 2025.

A veteran leader in ministry and child advocacy, Williams brings more than three decades of pastoral leadership, nonprofit development, and community engagement experience to his new role. His deep faith, long-standing commitment to children, and strong ties to East Tennessee make him uniquely qualified to lead Kingswood. “David is not only a proven organizational leader but also a passionate servant with a heart for children and the Gospel,” said the Kingswood Board of Directors in a joint statement. “His clear sense of calling, his history with Kingswood, and his vision for the future align perfectly with our mission to provide a Christ-centered home for children in need.”Williams previously served for 24 years as Senior Pastor at Hillcrest Baptist Church in Morristown, TN, where he actively partnered with Kingswood to organize community fundraisers and family engagement events. Most recently, he has served as Senior Pastor at Trenton Street Baptist Church in Harriman, TN. Williams brings a rich background in strategic planning, team leadership, and fundraising. His leadership style is collaborative, energetic, and focused on transforming lives through faith, structure, and love.

Laura Coverstone, Ed Poff, and Marana Basie of JobfitMatters partnered with the Kingswood Board to identify candidates whose leadership and vision aligned with the ministry’s goals. Following an extensive nationwide search, his proven leadership, strategic vision, and deep commitment to Kingswood’s mission distinguished Williams as the ideal leader for Kingswood’s next season of ministry. “To be the Executive Director of Kingswood Home for Children is a sacred trust,” said Williams. “I consider it a privilege to come alongside our dedicated staff, board, and community partners to invest in the lives of children – offering them safety, hope, and the love of Christ.”

Williams holds a Bachelor of Arts in Bible from Pensacola Christian College, a Master of Arts in Applied Theology from Carson-Newman University, and is currently completing a Doctor of Ministry in Pastoral Leadership. He and his wife, Melody, have three adult children and are long-time residents of East Tennessee.

The mission of Kingswood Home for Children is to bring healing to hurting children and families in His name, with an overarching goal of cultivating vibrant family trees for generations to come.
