Fort Worth Christian School Names Terry Rodgers Next President & Head of School

JobfitMatters Executive Search, together with Fort Worth Christian School Board of Trustees, is pleased to share the announcement that Dr. Terry Rodgers has been appointed their next President and Head of School, beginning April 1, 2024. Rodgers joins FWC from Prestonwood Christian Academy School System, where he has served for over 20 years, most recently as Chief Operating Officer. He is deeply passionate about Christian education and is excited to bring his experience to build upon FWC’s 65-year legacy.

Rodgers is a lifelong educator who began his career in education 30 years ago as a teacher and coach in Lubbock ISD.  He later became the Assistant Principal of Slaton High School and, in 2001, relocated to the DFW Metroplex to become the Assistant Principal of The Colony High School.  Two years later, he entered Christian education, joining Prestonwood Christian Academy in 2003 as Upper School Principal, and later assuming the role of Director of Co-Curricular Advancement. In 2021, Rodgers assumed the additional role of Chief Operating Officer. Throughout his years of service with Prestonwood Christian Academy, Rodgers has demonstrated exceptional leadership contributing to the school’s tremendous growth, financial health, and reputation for excellence.

Rodgers was selected from an exceptional pool of candidates in a nationwide search conducted by Laura Coverstone and Ed Poff of JobfitMatters and the FWC Search Committee. In addition to his broad experience in Christian education and developing high performing teams, Rodgers’ deep Christian faith, biblical worldview, missional mindset, and spiritual leadership characteristics further distinguished him as a candidate who embodies “faith, service, and leadership for Christ.” The FWC Search Committee and Board of Trustees voted unanimously to invite Rodgers to become FWC’s next President and Head of School. Regarding the JobfitMatters search process, FWC Search Committee Chair Luke Alverson commented,

I want to express sincere gratitude and thanks, certainly for myself, but also on behalf of the Search Committee and the full Board, for JobfitMatters’ support and counsel over these last several months. They have been an answer to our prayers and have exceeded our expectations!

Rodgers is a lifelong Texan, a native of Wichita Falls, Texas, and has been a resident of the DFW Metroplex for the past 20 years. He earned a Doctorate of Educational Leadership, a Masters in Educational Leadership, and a Bachelor of Arts and Sciences, all from Texas Tech University in Lubbock, Texas. Terry met his wife Sally (a native of Weatherford, Texas) at Texas Tech, and they have been married for 29 years. They have two children in their early 20s, both graduates of Prestonwood Christian Academy.

Fort Worth Christian is a Christ-centered, college preparatory school where every student is known, loved, taught excellence in and out of the classroom, and empowered by a biblical worldview.
