“I am blessed and honored to join the Point Loma Nazarene University community. The university’s mission and vision resonate strongly with my own values, and I look forward to partnering with the President, the Cabinet, the faculty, the staff, and members of the Enrollment and Marketing team to advance that mission. I am grateful for this opportunity and eager to contribute to the remarkable future that lies ahead for PLNU,” Dr. Berggren shared.

The search was facilitated by Ed Poff and Laura Coverstone of JobfitMatters Executive Search. Kerry Fulcher, president of PLNU, stated, “JobfitMatters was an outstanding partner throughout both of our vice presidential searches. Ed Poff and Laura and Coverstone took the time to understand PLNU’s mission, culture, and leadership needs, and timelines, and they remained thoughtful, responsive, and engaged throughout the entire process. They listened well, served as trusted thought partners, and ultimately presented exceptional candidates for our candidates for our consideration.

One aspect of their process that I found especially valuable was the use of the SIMA assessments. Mapping each candidate against the role’s leadership profile provided meaningful insights that benefited both our search advisory committee and the candidates themselves as they discerned God’s calling. The process was thorough, collaborative, and deeply aligned with the kind of discernment we value in Christian higher education. I would confidently recommend JobfitMatters to any organization seeking a search partner committed to understanding both the position and the people it serves.”
