ORPHANetwork Appoints Chief Operating Officer

JobfitMatters and ORPHANetwork (Virginia Beach, VA) are pleased to announce that Ted Draper has been selected to serve as the organization’s first Chief Operating Officer, effective August 1, 2018. Led by CEO Dick Anderson, ORPHANetwork is a Christian nonprofit serving 20,000 vulnerable and orphaned children in Nicaragua.

In this new role, Draper will focus on advancing the funding model of the ministry by identifying and cultivating relationships with new major investors, working with corporations to increase Gift-in-Kind revenue and by collaborating with United States churches to support the organization’s programs in Nicaragua. In addition to these fundraising roles, Draper will lead the Marketing, Communications and Human Relations Departments for the organization.

“Ted’s expertise in Development, Marketing and Communications will expand ORPHANetwork’s investor base to continue executing our strategic plan of breaking cycles of poverty in Nicaragua,” says Dick Anderson, ORPHANetwork’s CEO. “We are thrilled to add Ted’s business acumen to our leadership team as well as his shared passion for changing children’s lives through the local Nicaraguan church.”

Prior to joining ORPHANetwork, Draper worked for Avant Ministries (Kansas City, MO) as US Director, where he annually raised over $1 million dollars from individuals, corporations and foundations. In his ten year career with Avant he also served as Vice President of Marketing, Communications & Development as well as Director of Public Relations & Media.

Tommy Thomas and Laura Coverstone of JobfitMatters assisted with this search. Draper shared, “Tommy and Laura really got to know me and how I am wired to connect me with this opportunity that fits well with my experience, passions and desires. I see how God has prepared me, through all my past experiences, for this role, and I look forward to joining ORPHANetwork.”
