JobfitMatters, the SIMA® executive search practice of Tommy Thomas and Laura Coverstone, is pleased to announce that Johnston Evangelical Free Church (Johnston, Iowa) has called Jeremy Carr to serve as Senior Pastor beginning June 1, 2014.

The recommendation from the church’s Elder Board and Advisory Panel was an enthusiastic “yes” for JEFC to call Jeremy, which the church did in a special congregational vote on March 9th. The Advisory Panel’s letter to the Elder Board stated that their vote was “a unanimous “10” on a scale of one to 10. In other words, a simple affirmation is inadequate, and does not reflect our level of enthusiasm for Jeremy and Michelle Carr.” Elder Board Chair Brad Smith shared, “We are ecstatic that God has led Pastor Jeremy Carr to serve at JEFC.”

Jeremy currently serves as Senior Pastor at Oxford Bible Fellowship (EFCA) in Oxford, Ohio, where during his seven year tenure weekly attendance has grown from 150 to 750 worshippers. Jeremy is passionate about leading the church to embrace Christ-Centeredness, Redemptive Community, and Missional Living. He has re-launched OBF’s small group ministry, grown the church to multiple service formats, and developed a new mission, core values, and branding for the church. Before being called to OBF, Jeremy served as Pastor of College-Age, Adult Education, and Prayer at Bethel Church in Crown Point, Indiana, and has led mission trips to Peru, Hungary and India.

Jeremy is currently completing a Doctorate of Ministry from Trinity Evangelical Divinity School. He grew up in Northwest Indiana, received a Bachelor’s Degree from Faith Baptist Bible College and a Master’s Degree from Liberty Theological Seminary. Jeremy and his wife, Michelle, have five daughters (Lexys, Sydney, Quinn, Piper, and Rowan).
