SIMA Executive Search is pleased to announce that Dan Meester has accepted an offer from the Board of Trustees to become the next Superintendent at Holland Christian Schools beginning in the 2014-15 school year.
“With much deliberation and prayer, the Board is unanimous in our certainty that God provided Dan Meester with the experiences, talents, and leadership abilities to insure we stay true to our mission with excellence in partnership with our families and churches,” commented Stacy Jackson, Holland Christian School Board President.
Dan currently serves as Superintendent of San Jose Christian School in San Jose California. After graduating from Calvin College with degrees in English and Education, Dan taught High School English and AP English and coached multiple varsity sports at Illiana Christian School in Illinois and at Valley Christian School in San Jose. As he taught English full time at Valley Christian, Dan also coached the boys’ basketball team to the state finals. After achieving his Master’s degree in Educational Leadership, Dan coordinated Valley Christian’s AP programs and worked with students in college admissions. Additionally, he is a graduate of the Van Lunen Center for Executive Management in Christian Schools.

As you look back on Dan’s life, he has been prepared in so many ways to lead Holland Christian Schools,” shared Seth Bushouse, Vice President of the Board of Trustees and Chairman of the Superintendent Transition Committee.
While Dan leads San Jose Christian, he finds many ways to serve Christian Education broadly and his community locally. He is a Member of the Board of Trustees at Calvin College, where he serves as Chairman of the Student Life Committee and member of the Executive Committee. He also currently serves as President of on the Northern California CSI Administrators Group, President of the Santa Clara County Christian School Association, and has served as an Elder, Deacon, Executive Committee member, and Pastoral Search Committee member at San Jose Christian Reformed Church.
Dan and his wife Betsy (who student taught at HC) have been married for 14 years and have two children, Juliana (8) and Thijs (5). Dan commented, “Working with SIMA in my search process helped me see my giftedness and calling in a new light. Their work allowed me to find a place that will be personally fulfilling and serve as a platform for the Lord to use me for years to come.”
