Redeemer Classical School Appoints Ronald Hoch Head of School

JobfitMatters Executive Search and Redeemer Classical School in Harrisonburg, Virginia announce the selection of Ron Hoch as the first Head of School for RCS. Hoch currently serves at Delaware County Christian School outside Philadelphia as the Director of Student Life. Having worked in various capacities at DCCS for 11 years, he comes to RCS with a Master’s Degree in Religion from Reformed Theological Seminary and is currently completing a second Master’s Degree in Education Leadership from the University of Pennsylvania.

Hoch said, “I’m so pleased to be joining the talented team of educators at Redeemer Classical School. From the moment I stepped into a classroom, it was clear to me that something special is taking place here. The unique curriculum nurtures wisdom and virtue in an engaging way, and the students are excited to learn. Education at Redeemer is refreshing on so many levels. It will be a blessing to send my own children to Redeemer and an honor to lead this stellar school.”

Gus Scheidt, President of the RCS Board shared, “This was the next logical step for our growing school community. A full-time Head of School will focus on achieving our long-range goals and will enable Redeemer Classical School to engage more of the community with our compelling mission to provide for the Christian discipleship of children through a classical education for the greater glory of God.”

Laura Coverstone and Ed Poff of JobfitMatters assisted the Redeemer Classical School with this search. Committee Chair Rita Dunaway shared, “We are so grateful to have had the assistance of Laura and Ed throughout our search process. Their patience, thoroughness, and expertise were critical to our finding a Head of School who complements our school community perfectly. God’s guidance throughout the whole process was quite apparent.”

Hoch begins the new position on July 1st, and he will work alongside Principal Teresa Patton, who has been involved with the school since its founding in 2001. Redeemer Classical School purchased its facility, the historic Keezletown School Building, last year, and has since begun a multi-phase renovation project to house its growing student body. This year 137 students, grades pre-K to 8, are enrolled at the school. RCS is accredited by Christian Schools International.
